Do you want to empower society to function? We are now looking for a dam safety expert in Skellefteå.
Welcome with your application!
Who are we?
At Skellefteå Kraft, we empower society and life to function. We ensure that preschools are warm and bright during drop-off and that machines in hospitals and factories never stop. As if that weren't enough, we also make the green transition possible, and we do it together. With truly skilled employees who see and support each other, share their knowledge, and want to develop in one of the world's most important jobs.
Do you want to be a part of us?
The Position
As a dam safety expert, you will play a key role in ensuring that our dam facilities maintain the appropriate level of dam safety, today and over time. You will be responsible for evaluating the status of the facilities, identifying deficiencies, and developing and coordinating measures. A good result in the role is a systematic and long-term dam safety work where we ensure high dam safety.
Your tasks include leading investigations, providing technical knowledge about the dams' construction, maintenance, and safe operation during operation, maintenance, and renovations. You will also work on establishing and maintaining internal company regulations within the dam safety area, based on legislation, regulatory requirements, and RIDAS, while ensuring continuous development of our safety management system.
You will report to the group manager for power production facility management, business unit manager for power production, and the company's group management, and you will also have contact with supervisory authorities. The role involves close collaboration with your own group Facility Management, which consists of nine employees focused on facility status and long-term management. Additionally, you will collaborate with other groups within the business unit, support functions, Energy Service, external contractors, as well as authorities and industry organizations.
There is already a dam safety expert in the organization, which means you will be part of an established function with high competence and opportunities for knowledge exchange.
The position is a permanent full-time employment based in Skellefteå. Start date at the end of April or as agreed. Travel is included in the position, and overnight stays may occur, mainly during spring and autumn. You will be part of crisis management in serious incidents at dam facilities, and on-call duty may occur in special situations.
Interested?
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys handling complex technical issues. You easily identify cause-and-effect relationships, immerse yourself in different technical areas, and translate analysis into concrete action plans.
You work systematically from start to finish, plan your work carefully, and ensure that investigations, analyses, and follow-ups are carried out with high quality. The role requires you to make well-founded and independent decisions and drive issues forward, even in situations where everything is not entirely predetermined.
Since you collaborate with many different functions and external actors, it is important that you are communicative, clear, and easy to cooperate with. You share your expertise and actively contribute to the team's results. You remain calm even when the pressure increases, show confidence in your own abilities, and act thoughtfully rather than impulsively. You are motivated by working long-term and responsibly in a socially important operation where safety, precision, and development go hand in hand.
